NJ Walks and Bikes is the official blog of the NJ Bicycle and Pedestrian Resource Center (BPRC). Here, you’ll find posts about bike/ped best practices, from what to look for when buying a new bike to steps that will make your workplace more bike friendly. You’ll also find Complete Streets and other infrastructure updates from around the state, national news updates, and updates on our own BPRC activities.
BPRC assists public officials, transportation and health professionals, and the public in creating a safer and more accessible walking and bicycling environment through primary research, education and dissemination of information about best practices in policy and design. The Center is supported by the New Jersey Department of Transportation through funds provided by the Federal Highway Administration.
The BPRC and NJ Safe Routes to School Program are managed by the Voorhees Transportation Center’s (VTC) Pedestrian and Bicycle Practice Group. VTC is a national leader in the research and development of innovative transportation policy and is located within the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University.
